Boys With Big Hearts

Bill Clinton had to go to the vet today to get treatment for his heart after chest pains. I have to go to the vet again tomorrow--after two days where we couldn't leave our house--because my heart is not getting better. I am, as they say, one sick puppy.

We have had some LOUSY weather here in Dela-Where that has trapped us in the house (and my ape with a shovel in her hand). The snow was so deep we almost lost the sheppys!

I have not been so sick that I can't do my part clearing the snow

Mmmmmmmm. Wudder Ice. (I do recommend avoiding the lemon ones).

And when I got filled up with snow I cleared some space by roaching.

I do look good in Nor'easter!

SPCA Saturday: O Brother, How Art Thou

I am a worried corgador. My friend Sophie's brudder Graham Riggins is feeling poorly. And while I am familiar with the scourge of dorkus malorkus brudders I really want him to get better because I know, underneath her tuffy exterior, Sophie loves her brudder. We are pulling for you, Graham!

And now some SPCA Saturday! Here's an energetic fellow named Cain.

And a lil' Chihuahua without a name. But with big ears.

And Cato who is an elderly gentleman.

And Jinx, a very shy labby.

And now my ma ape's latest obsession! A brindle Jughead! He was very sick for a few weeks and was in iso and it was his first day out and about!

I think you can see why she loves him. It's the soulful eyes. And the jacked up teeth.

And we have similar builds.

It's like he's my brindle brother.

So this post is to all the brudders who need brudderly love, whether to get better like Graham Rabbit or to find a new, happy, illness-free home like Brindle Jughead.

Bad Hair Day!

I'm so worried! Tonight is the big Best Friends Animal Rescue pawty over at the Brat Pack's place and, just like pimples flock to teenagers on prom night, my looks have taken a hit!

LinkIt was raining this morning on my walk and look what it did to my beautiful coat!

And then my ma ape noticed THIS in my eye! Ewwwww!

Am I gonna be ready for the pawty??? Will they let me in with my booger eye or will I be turned away at the velvet rope?? What do you think? Am I still handsome enough to hang with the beautiful people?

On the Seventh Day I Rest (Also the first, second, third...)

Yes, it is still Wally Week! And so it is Wally Sunday. In case you've forgotten why we must have Wally Week, here is a reminder of what I (and, by proxy, you) have to put up with:

I've been quite busy ensleeperating. As you can see, I turn into jello while I naperate.

And then it was time for BULLY STICKS!

This was an all day ordeal because I would chew for a few minutes and then bury my bully and then my baby brudder would find it and try to chew on it and ma ape would take it away from him and give it back to me. And I would chew for a few minutes, then bury it, then ... This was an all day ordeal.

And then here is a story about karma. Yesterday one of the dogs had a tug rope with knots on the end and the pup shook it and the knot hit the top of my ma ape's foot and now SHE has a knot on her foot!

Cheaters never prosper, ma ape. This is a reminder of the only kind of ensmoocherating you should be doing!
Ahhhh...Wally smooches. Now with bull pizzle breath!

Age Ain't Nothin' But a Number...

A number indicating AWESOMENESS, that is!

Gus and his muzzer sent me this editorial which Gail Collins RIPS OFF MY BLOG by noting it is time for TIME, that is, Stumpy's win is an indicator of the triumph of the AARP, (Association of Retired Pooches):

Stump, whose hobbies are sleeping and sleeping, [mine, too!--ed.] is actually Champion Clussexx Three D Grinchy Glee, but nobody his age can remember all that. After a refreshing workout that involved a short walk around the driveway, he trotted onto the stage and wiped the floor with his younger competition

Notably, Stump beat ONE OF HIS OFFSPRING in the ring. And he beat some new fangled technology/new fangled weirdness because the poodle who was competing was conceived using 25-year-old preserved semen. Kids these days!

But I think my model of aged awesomeness is this lady in Britain!

A teenage thief thought the old lady she was helping into a car would be easy pickings: just grab her bag and go. What the bag-snatcher didn’t know is that this old lady was a 100-yard British national champion in her youth, and she still had some fire left. Mrs. Jean Hirst, a widow and retired teacher, began chasing the thief, who finally gave up the goods.

Notably, my burpday is in 9 days. BUT WHO IS COUNTING?

A Day for Bassets!

I was SO RELIEVED to check the Five Happy Hound's blog and see that my main lady Sam was feeling better. She's been under the weather and I've been so worried. I hope you continue to get better (but still get loads of extra attention!). Here's a picture to help you feel a bit better; I hope it doesn't make your fever worse!

Also I saw this story in the Telegraph about a basset and an owl who are best buds who like to watch telly together.

I like my stories, too, though I'd rather not watch them with a bird perched on my back, thank you. I would most def watch them with a basset bud, though.

E-bo-ny and I-vo-ry!

It's time for OCCASIONAL OSCAR! Wally has been hoggin' the bloggin' cuz of his bum ticker! So I said that I wanna go play and then I want to tell everyone about it, k! It was SO COLD so I had to be FAST.

So here I am with an Aussie girl and she liked to shout at me! Why are girls always shouting at me and chasing me like my sissy???!?! Maybe I should not bite them in the bums!

See us doin' the chase game!

And that other girl liked to shout at me so when my friend Kasey came I shouted at her! But she didn't like it. So then we played rasslin'! If you look you can see my back is all slobbery from Kasey.

I like to be on the bottom!

And then guess who showed up??? My bud Ricky! He was adopterated out with his sissy Ilsa but then he had to come back but now he has a NEW home that he's going to on Wednesday! I think Santa is taking him. Rickyyyyyyyyy!

Here's Ricky's brudder Tuchuck.

But me n' Ricky are Ebony and Ivory! Two Teen Terrors! Chasey!

Mouthy!
Bitey.
Handsomey!

Humpy!

And Randi was missin' Wally so here he is looking especially WEIRD. I think he just got probed by aliens. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

The ladies don't SHOUT at Wally and he says it is because he does not bite them on the butts. Wevs! Later, dudes! Oscar out!

Wally at the V-E-T!

I had to go to the V-E-T yesterday so he could draw my blood (supposedly for tests to make sure my Pemobendan is not hurting my kidneys but I know it is for cloning purposes!!!!) and to collect my wee which I thought was a little weird but whatever floats their boat. They also had to check my blood pressure which has returned to normal in spite of me having to live with the peppy sheppys.

You can see how excited I am about being at the V-E-T even though they shower me with attention and Ms. Sheree came out just to give me a hug and a kiss.

And while this was just a check-up I did receive really horrible, terrible, awful news:

My weight is dropping precipitously. Like .1 pounds in the last two weeks! My goodness. I believe that I suffer from a condition called "My Ma Ape is starving me TO DEATH." The vet ORDERED her to get three T-Bone steaks and apply them directly to my food bowl. She has not yet complied with the doctor's orders.

I hope I do not faint again from the hunger. Oh, the hunger!

We did get marrow bones when I got home. But mine was the smallest. I'm still hungry.

Send help immediately.

SPCA SUNDAY! By BIG RED!

This is unprecedented! Wally told me I could blog for TWO DAYS. (Right now he is busy working on a buffalo bone so he really has the better deal.) It's BIG RED here and I have the greatest news EVER!

I have a girlfriend! And his name is Tuchuck!

See! He really really likes me!

It was Fun Day at the SPCA and the lady came and she helped run the photo booth and the Ice Cream/Frosty Paw Social! Look at my picture advertising the photo booth! HANDSOME!

And she made liver brownies--YUM. ANd they had a Guess the Fat Cat's Weight Booth. HAHA! FatCat! His name is Capone.

And she walked adoptable dogs around then she came and got ME and I was so scared I peed and didn't want to but then I met the new love of my life! Tuchuck's sister showed people how to do agility and then Tuchuck and I SCHOOLED everybody in how to have fun!

It mostly involves running.

And more running.

And some more!

And then a little bitey face.

Chuck and Big Red 4Ever!

Wally said I need to post a picture of his commentary on the situation so that you don't forget how totes cute he is:

He also said it is Randay and that some girl named Randi wants to take me home. He said that would make it the greatest Randay EVER. He has so many girlfriends. Maybe now I can have more than ONE!

I'd settle for one home, though. I'm outie!

Love,
BIG RED.
