turkeys!

another obvious joke: which turkey is getting pardoned?

on a different note, i do love holidays that celebrate eating. but, really, in america what holiday doesn't revolve around eating?

my naked apes will be feasting on tofurkey but my vegan mawma will suspend her disgust just enough to cook me and my sister some good old turkey giblets. that's love.

warning--i'm going for the obvious joke here about this story about the florida bar association:

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (Reuters) - A Florida law firm's television advertisement featuring a pit bull, a dog breed known for its aggression, is misleading and an affront to the legal profession, the Florida Supreme Court ruled on Thursday.

Responding to a complaint by the Florida Bar, the state's highest court sanctioned a pair of Fort Lauderdale attorneys whose advertisement showed a spike-collared pit bull in the company logo. The bar also objected to the company's telephone number: 1-800-748-2855 or 1-800-PIT BULL.

The advertisements "demean all lawyers and thereby harm both the legal profession and the public's trust and confidence in our system of justice," Chief Justice Barbara Pariente scolded a unanimous decision.

The court said the ads violated a prohibition on legal advertising that suggests behavior, conduct or tactics that are contrary to rules of professional conduct.

What about demeaning the poor pit bulls? The comparison doesn't flatter them, either.

get me to an undisclosed location!

the ap is reporting today that a british memo suggests that tony blair had to dissuade bush from bombing al jazeera:

November 22,2005 LONDON -- A civil servant has been charged under Britain's Official Secrets Act for allegedly leaking a government memo that a newspaper said Tuesday suggested that Prime Minister Tony Blair persuaded President Bush not to bomb the Arab satellite station Al-Jazeera.

The Daily Mirror reported that Bush spoke of targeting Al-Jazeera's headquarters in Doha, Qatar, when he met Blair at the White House on April 16, 2004. The Bush administration has regularly accused Al-Jazeera of being nothing more than a mouthpiece for anti-American sentiments.

The Daily Mirror attributed its information to unidentified sources. One source, said to be in the government, was quoted as saying that the alleged threat was "humorous, not serious," but the newspaper quoted another source as saying that "Bush was deadly serious, as was Blair."

first the white house takes on the onion, now bombing al jazeera? i hope they're not monitoring my blog. i have accused dick cheney of eating puppies on occasion. fortunately i have a much more peaceful way of dealing with my enemies that include notre dame, soldier (the dog who always steals my sister's toys), goddamn cats, and bushes.

note to the free press--duck!
