Dogs at Play

My sissy and I have a date tomorrow! With our friend Upchuck! Here are some pictures of our last date. It involved some chasing.

And some terrorizing.

And more terrorizing.

And I tried to hit on Upchuck's sissy Narra.

She's playing hard to get. Maybe tomorrow I will make my move.

My New Team

Well, my Cornhuskers went down in flames (not literally, though I am craving roasted Corn). But my Sophina La Brador has come to my rescue with fantastic news! The Saskatchewan ROUGH RIDERS have made it into the GREY CUP--the Canadian version of the Super Bowl. Leave it to the Canadians to name their major football game the "Grey Cup." NO! The world of sports is black and white!

Um, sorry, I got distracted. As I was saying, the ROUGH RIDERS, whom I love because I believe myself to be rough and TOUGH are going to be playing for the championship! And, I thought to myself, surely they will need a ROUGH RIDIN' mascot. So I am waiting 1) for a call from the Cornhuskers who will be needing a new coach tomorrow and 2) to hear from the Rough Riders calling me into duty!

In particular, Ms La Brador has just informed me that the ROUGH RIDERS fans wear hollowed out WALLYMELONS on their heads during games! So I am hereby offering my services. I will be your mascot, running onto the field for inspiration and entertainment during time outs, halftime and commercial breaks, AND I will do the difficult task of hollowing out these Wallymelons! I could not find a picture of the Wallymelon hats (though much time was wasted in their pursuit, and I tried to convince my ma ape to make one and wear it, to no avail)

I did find a picture of a Wallymelon Football Salad. GO ROUGH RIDIN' WALLYMELON!

A Battle of Good! vs. EEEEEVIL!

Today is an important battle in the war of good vs. evil, namely Nebraska vs. Colorado in football. And if you don't know which is good and which is evil YOU might be evil. For absolution sing "There is no place like Nebraska" five times. Appropriately, CU is wearing all black and the Cornhuskers are wearing all white. I found this picture on the internets, though I think my sissy and I could do a better job of taking down some buffaloes!

The image “http://www.nebsports.com/players/nebraska-colorado.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Imagine THIS mug in your face, stinky buffs!

But first, I have a small message for the Buff-loes!

And meet Ralphie, the CU mascot:

The image “http://www.autumnspectacle.com/Pageantry/Ralphie-runout.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

So my ma ape got me a little diversion for during the game--a BUFFALO BONE! Yup, a little bit of Ralphie.

So I put on the red and black bananadana from my GooberStan, put my bone on my lovely new blankie and I'm ready to root for the Huskers! Go Huskers!

Yup, tastes like victory!

In tomorrow's episode of Good vs. Evil, Kansas vs. Missouri! Do they sell Tiger bones?

Turkey Day Preparations!

My sissy and I have to get ready for one of my FAVORITE pawlidays--TURKEY DAY! It is a great holiday because it combines two of my favorite things--gorging and football.

To work up an appetite we had to go play in the outside! Look at the pretty trees.

I had to boss around my sissy. That always makes me hungry.

Here I am telling her a secret--the secret of Thanksgiving. (Mmmm. Fooooood).

And then we both got alien eyes.

And then last night we had a warm-up to exercise our jaws--SNOOOOOZLES. Tasty tasty pig snacks. If you can see next to my sissy, she is chewing her snoozle next to my pig squeakie to honor the pig who gave its nose for us.

Our snoozles were small and so I told my ma ape it was probably from baby pigs--like Babe. And that made my ma ape all sad so I tried to make her feel better by saying "That'll do, pig, that'll do." to my snoozle. That didn't work. I sure felt good, though.

And then I heard about this wonderful thing called a Turducken which I can only imagine is either the result of a genetic experiment gone horribly right or is a turkey who swallowed a duck who swallowed a chicken. So I asked for one and my ma ape made a horrible face. But she DID get us one of our FAVORITES for breakfastables--QUAIL! And she stuffed them with rabbit moosh. So we had Quabbit!

Look--they look like teeny tiny turkies!

Mmmm. I approve!

I can't wait to see what other snackables will come our way. Happy Turkey Day my friends! Please gorge yourself with wonderful, wonderful snacks.

Ain't nothin' but a Wallydog...

...howlin' all the time! It's a holiday (Thanksgiving) which means I have my apes captive for a few days. It is a holiday that revolves around FOOD so that's good. And the weather is AWESOME. So what is a dog to do but sing a little tune. Can you guess what I'm singing?

A. The new Spice Girls single?

B. "But this Wally's too Bootylicious for you, babe!

C. "Love Me Tender" by Elvis. (That's for Marvin, who is a big fan of The King).

D. T is for Turkey--that's good enough for me! Oh Turkey Turkey Turkey, that's what I want to eat!

E. Bob Dylan "If dogs run free"

If dogs run free, then why not we
Across the swooping plain?
My ears hear a symphony
Of two mules, trains and rain.
The best is always yet to come,
That's what they explain to me.
Just do your thing, you'll be king,
If dogs run free.
