Oscar on the Boob Toob??!?

I am concerned. I was sent this video by my bud Narra. I was excited because
Link
1.) I like The Soup
2.) I do not like The Dog Whisperer

But watch the video carefully. It appears that before he moved in with us Oscar was a star of the small screen! A Norwegian War Hound!

Here's the funny thing--while they make fun of his techniques, they cut OUT the part where he puts a shock collar on Oscar and he promptly bites his owner! Don't tase me bro!

Here is Oscar, having vanquished the Canadian Goose my granNE sent us. What TV show will he turn up on next?

Ice Cream & Other Good Things!

OK, there have been a lot of OTHER DOGS stealing my blogthunder but I would like to take a moment to plug this raffle for the All God's Creatures Pitbull Rescue. My buddy Rulon, who is fostering the Five Happy Hounds, is helping with the raffle. Go Rulon!

And now I have to give a shout-out to my girl Narra and her brothers Jackson, Tuchuck, and Rousseau who brought us some DOG ICE CREAM:

Miss Priss Ethel did not want to eat it because it was made of fruitables and not meatables:

But the boys dug right in!

We heartily approve!

And we never look goofy while we eat:

And now it's time to work off that sugar rush!

Catch me if you can! (You can't.)

Sunday Morning in the Sun!

We got to have another playdate! This time with a pool party (more on that in a later post.) We got to go over to see Narra, Jackson, Tuchuck and Rousseau.

Three dogs in one car!

Four dogs in one pile.

Oscar Bean chased Tuchuck.

Wally chased Tuchuck!

Jackson chased Wally (slow speed chase).

Look! Jackson scares Oscar because Oscar cannot handle his love. Here Oscar is stopped in his track by the power of Jackson's gaze.

Jackson just wants a little love!

And a lotta Oscar.

Princess Narra was above the she-nanigans.

And also she was quite busy hoarding the tennis balls.

We listened to ABBA the whole time and had a handsome contest to decide who got to be the Dancing Queen.

The entrants included Tuchuck (Super Trooper).

Jackson (Voulez Vous--ah ha!)
.

Rousseau (Chiquitita).

Wally T. (Wallyloo!)!

Who is the Dancing Queen? You don't have to say--I don't want to make the other dogs feel bad.

But I did leave behind a little something for my pals to remember me by.

If you want to see a video of us playing you can visit my buds' blog.

Play Date!

Look! Two boys in a car! ROAD TRIP! ROAD TRIP!

We were going to visit some friends. Do you remember this dude, Tuchuck?

He was my sissy's first dog friend (other than me). And Tuchuck has a big bro and a sis. Jackson and Narra.

They are our DWB AND real world friends. Though last time we saw each other Ethel picked a fight with Narra and Ethel wound up at the vet with a cone on her head. I told her to BE NICE. No girl fights. And there weren't! Oscar is really good friends with these dudes because he had some slumber parties at their house before he came to our house. He and Tuchuck are especially close. Kissin' Cousins!

My friends have a new brudder named Rousseau (the philosopher, not the artist.)

He's big ole bad ass Aussie Shepherd X. Um, he's on the other side of the fence because I jumped on his back which was not nice a nice way to say hello. But Rousseau got to come in after me n' sissy were in exile on the other side of the fence. Rousseau likes Oscar. A lot. Here he is trying to hump him! Ha!

Narra was not much interested in us. She likes to fit many tennis balls in her mouth and play hard to get. She wouldn't even let my ma ape pet her! She's like totes a society girl and thought we were kinda embarrassing.

Mostly there was a lot of running running running.

A touch of chasing.

And a smidgen of rasslin'.

And while I may be old don't count this dude out!

We also spent a lot of time around the water bowl.

Which SOME dogs thought was their personal water bowl.

There was a lot of following, much of it by Jackson who, like me is older and wiser.

Here we are having a little AARP convention.

Look! Dude convention!

Three amigos!

Four amigos!

We were very tired after our playdate. Here we are on our way home. Can you see me? I am UNDER Ethel catchin' some Zs.

We were so good that we get to have ANOTHER date next weekend AND I hear we're getting ICE CREAM for DINNER. Oscar sez, "THAT ROCKS!"

Ethel's Owie

OK, first I would like some acknowledgment for being the bravest dog EVER for staying home ALONE yesterday while my sissy was at the vet. I used to have wicked bad separation anxiety but I stayed brave and strong and was home alone and didn't cry or try to escape and I only got into the trash once.

OK, so here are your options for how sissy got a hole in her:

A) A misguided attempt to catch swiss cheese by making a holey outfit
B) Dick Cheney mistook her for an old man
C) She picked fights (yes, multiple) with our friends
D) She bit herself for an excuse to wear a cone-hat like her friend Tuchuck
E) She wanted a tube put in so she could pee like manly ole me

What do you think? (And remember, when it doubt, the most commonly used answer is "C")

So the apes found her hole on Sunday night after our playdate and she had to go to the vet. She had to get ten stitches because the hole was real deep but we were lucky it didn't puncture her stomach (though I was disappointed because what if the food she ate came out that hole and then I could eat it too!). And she has a tube which, as Ike's supersmart vet-care givin' mom observed, is to drain PUS. Sissy is like so gross. And she has to wear a cone (photos to come).

My ma ape is really bummed that this happened because sometimes me and my sissy get really protective of one another so she should have been more careful. And she remembers the last time my BFF Sherman of the Dogs of Jackman Ave got into a fight with his sissies and she said "There but for the grace of Dog go I" and here we are! My sissy and I don't fight and she's fine with some dogs but sometimes she wants to protect me even though I'm a big tough manly man.

Here's Ethel playing with her buddy Tuchuck in less puss-filled times.

And here I am with my girly girl Narra. It may look like I'm pursuing her:

But I caught her checking out my bum!

And she pretends like she's totally weirded out by my alien eyes:

But, really, she just wanted to know how to do it:

Thanks for all the well-wishes for my sissy! I hope she learns her lesson but you know ladies... (Um, my ma ape just asked me if I learned my lesson and told me no more bullies until I apologize to women everywhere. Sorry girls!)

Dogs at Play

My sissy and I have a date tomorrow! With our friend Upchuck! Here are some pictures of our last date. It involved some chasing.

And some terrorizing.

And more terrorizing.

And I tried to hit on Upchuck's sissy Narra.

She's playing hard to get. Maybe tomorrow I will make my move.
