Goodbye 2010!

Last night we stayed up LATE to watch our Cornhuskers lose to the Huskies. Well, if they had to lose at least they lost to some dogs. (Apparently our ape went to their school. And she's still a bit thick, needs more clicker training.) It made us think that at this time last year we watched the SAME game (but the Huskers won), we were under 800 feet of snow, and we were getting ready to welcome in the new year with our Auntie Ira and Onkel Eric! How much has changed since then. We lost our Gramps and our Wally. These were not the best of times.

But we were found by....

One Otis.

And one Edgrr. And our ma ape got to meet so many of her DWB friends in July, she got to see our GranNE and our Onkel Eric for more than she has for the last decade combined, our bestie helped take care of us and still talks to us! So it was not our favorite year but it could have been worse. This year may we all make new friends, keep the old, and appreciate every minute with them!

And here's Wally's bit of advice for tackling the new year, there's no problem so big we can't...

HUMP IT!

Three Generations of Corgitude

You may not know that while the ma ape enjoys a coterie of canines in a variety of sizes and shapes she is a long time corgador fancier. Before she had me, Edgrr the half corgador, she had Wally THE corgador, and before that Conan the half corgador. Let's take a look, shall we?

This is Conan the Corgbarian, our ma ape's first dog. Our GranNE was most kind to scan pho-tos of him for our ma ape to show off. Our ma ape's GranNE and Gramps were also most kind to get our ma ape a corgi after she researched breeds and picked out the corgi. He is our ape's only dog purchased from a breeder, a lovely lady who showed corgis (including Conan's dad who was a pageant boy) and competing in herding (Conan was more involved in Human Resources.)

Our ma ape jokes that Conan was GranNE and Gramps' favorite child as he was the most good-looking and by far the most intelligent. (Don't tell her that it's not a joke.) He was known for his love of havarti and braunschweiger, his excellent work managing the human herd, and his most adorable of faces.

You know this guy! WALLY! He started this blog and was kind enough to bequeath it to his bratty sheppy siblings. He is ma ape's only purebred corgador (thus far). He was from a rescue in Snoqualmie, Washington. West Coast boy! Wally IS the breed standard for the corgador, requiring a big kissable head, adorbs stumpy legs, expressive face

And roaching mastery!

And now I join this illustrious line of short-legged, bossy, nosy, food-loving, naked ape manipulating, spoiled bestiary! I'll make you proud, Grandpas Conan and Wally!

Now, you should ask your apes to leave the room while I share a secret with you. You should be alerted to the reality that half-corgadors are TAKING OVER THE WORLD. Oh yes, we are remaking the world.

In our image.

Memories

Our Gramps said this was one of his favorite quotes and it is one of ours, too, because it reminds us of our brudder:

Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these.

Hi Peeps!

Our ma ape has been back for a WHOLE WEEK and has not helped us blog because she is busy which in naked ape language means LAZY. We were super good while she was gone and got visits every day from our bestie from Tracing Lucky Skies (bestie ape, anyway.) That was the most fun ever but then our buzzkill ape came back. She has been planting, planting planting in the yard and trying to do "work" so she can go back to Nebraska to see Gramps. We're pretty sure that what Gramps and GranNE nees is a little visit from us but the ma ape doesn't seem to agree. We will try to take some new pictures including Otis's new grill, ma ape's garden (now with Wallymelons!), cornish hens for breakfast!, Ethel's burpday!, and much much more!

More Comic Relief!

We needed a little funny around here. So we are trying to lift spirits by being as silly as possible. We have to fit in a lot of silly between now and Monday when our ma ape is going to NEBRASKA to see GranNE and Gramps!

Look! We have a new FAVORITE TOY! It is an early prezzie for Ethel's birthday. It is a stuffed Otis. BOL!

Nothing like a good sibling rivalry. Do you think Ethel is kissing or biting? OR BOTH! She's a minx.

And now Otis wanted to show off his new pearly whites:

And how he uses them for eating I SCREAM!

OH NO! Put the rotten ones back in!

We are still putting together our paws for our Gramps. I'm sure these photos will make him feel better. That he's not with Otis. BOL!

So That Happened

It has been the MOST BUSY week ever. Other than maybe the week when my ma ape had a burpday while she and I drove across the country to move from Seattle to Delawhere. Also, at some point I went crazy. But this busy time I did not. So here's the story of Wally's Very Busy Week. First, my ma ape had a burpday and she is 9 million years old. I got her a GREAT present--beer! Beers with dogs on them are the best.

And another great present--ICE CREAM FOR US! Because the weather decided to get hot just in time for the moverating. So here I am nomming a bit of sweet potato n' molasses cream because I know nothing maes my ma ape happier than watching me be happy.

And then I had to move out of my old stinky house. It was a rental. And it was carpeted and too big. Here we are in the almost empty house. See the funny face I am making. That's to show how gross the old house was.

So we got a new house! Here are peppy sheppys showing they can still wrestle in the new house on the pretty floor.

And here I am on the stairs that I can go down but not up so we got carpet squares for them. That's important so I can get to one of my favorite parts of the day, going to bed.

And here I am being CRAZY! When we got to the new house my brudder's crate was there but the mat was gross so we threw it out and put in my Grammie Blanket. So even though I hateables the crateables I got in so I could have my Grammie Blanket!

And here's our new fridge stocked with beers!

And this is the guest bedroom. We had to make it up because something else happened--my GranNE and Gramps came! And here's the guest bed with the quilt my Great GranNE made for my ma ape! GranNE thinks we're going to tear up and/or pee on the nice quilt. I don't know why she would think we are naughty. Just cuz last time she was here I took everything out of her bag to find the granola bar at the bottom. I was helping unpack!

And here I am with my brudder Oscar on our new rug. We look supes handsome. But Oscar has not been supes nice. He was really mean to my GranNE and Gramps like he was totally guarding the new house and he looks scary with his teeth out. It is stressed out my ma ape and she thinks she needs to do a lot of work with his guarding/stranger issues.

So we made him go for walks with them and gave him lots of snacks and now he knows that GranNE and Gramps are great. See, here is Oscar helping my GranNE do some gardening.

And then I got a NEW BOX with a NEW BED like Joe Stains' Snuggle Ball but probably bigger because I am a big guy. But the bed is REALLY big.

Which turns out to be just right for Wally.

And here is part of the backyard, one of the parts with hostas (and see the screen up there flapping in the wind? Yeah, Oscar did that.) Oh, and what is that in the hostas? Is it Oscas?

No! A corgador in the weeds!

I discovered I can crawl around under the porch like a mole. Awesome!

These are some things that happened. I am going to get some rest so I have plenty of energy to beg for snacks from GranNE and blog some more!

Things My Granny Learned

Now that the grands have left I have had time to reflect on all the things they learned from ME while they were here. I had so many things to show them. I showed them my field where they learned how to take pictures of my handsome mug.

And my gramps went to Philly and he learned how to play Rocky.

And my granny is really good at roaching only she calls it "YOGA" when she rolls around on her back grunting. So I showed her some new "yoga" moves with some mighty fine roachin'.

And my granny gave me and my sissy some blankets for cleaning us. Does she think we're dirty? I think my blanket works best as an Obi Wan Kenobi outfit.

I showed my granny how to nap on the Grammie Blankie! And look at my ever so subtle snaggle.

And then I showed my granny how she can fix my broken stuffies!

And then I showed her how I break them!

And I showed her how gently I take the baby carrots.

And how I eat lamb bones during the Seahawks game! Munch munch. Losing makes me hungry!

I hope you had a good visit granny. Come back soon so you can learn even more from me. (PS. The moose is STILL on the loose! I haven't broken it yet).
