Last weekend our ma ape abandoned us to go to the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear which was INSANE because what inspires sanity and/or fear more than US? Hmmm? Well, we knew she'd made a horrible error because this clearly was a rally meant for us to usher in the Era of the Dog, in which we would finally rule over all the beasts with an iron paw. Instead, she forgot us and it ushered in the Era of the Rat. Or the turtle.

This week we got CONFIRMATION of the error from a very interesting source, Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, DFA! How could this segment of Tip of the Hat (the third one, not the feeling-up one or the gay Bert one) NOT be directed at us?

Oh yes, last year the Texas Lamehorns STOLE the Big XII Championship from the Cornhuskers when they got a MIRACLE SECOND added to the clock. Grrrrrrr. But revenge will be ours today! However, Otis has been most troubled by something football related lately. One of his bestie gal pals is Mayzie. You can see how they have things in common like brindley stripes and a taste for the brewskis.

But then what is THIS??

Oh noes! She loves the Sooners and they are the traditional rivals of Otis's true love..THE HUSKERS! They are like the Montagues and Capulets! See how melancholy this makes Otis?

But then he remembered! There is still a deep bond between them. And that is HATRED OF THE LONGHORNS! Hooray! He can love Mayzie and the Cornhuskers!

And together they are on the side of good against the AXIS OF EEEEEVIL!

We Win!

Guess what guys!??!? We're weiners winners! We won the POST OF THE MONTH at Dogs with Blogs!! We were the only nominees! WOOOOO! Landslide! We'd like to thank our buddy Mango Man (Oh Yeah!) who nominated us.

We have a theory about why Mango may have nominated us.

Separated at brindle birth?

I believe they weigh the exact same thing, though Mango appears to be a bit taller. Though we also think Otis may have another brindle brudder from another brindle mudder. When our ma ape lived in Belfast there was this show on called TFI Friday (What's the F, ma ape?) and they had a segment of fat celebrity lookalikes (here's a not very funny one.) We've always wondered if Otis was just a Fat Peanut?

Here's Peanut being held by his superduper strong dad. We're pretty sure that no matter how awesomely strong Peanut's dad is, Otis would break his back if he tried to lift the Chunk Tank. And while we are making fun of Otis here are some pictures of him falling off the couch while he sleeps because his head is SO HEAVY. Joe Stains asked us what is in that head that makes it so big and dense. We will investigate for you, Joe.
