Otis Dances For Dollars!

Last weekend was a big weekend for us! It was the Delaware SPCA Open House! They were celebrating their makeover.  About 5 years ago they got new management that increased their adoption rate to almost 90%! Before not so many dogs made it out. And they would be put to sleeps if they 1) were sick or 2) were old  or 3) were pitbulls. I WAS ALL THREE!  Thank you new SPCA!  (That's thanks from the rest of the world who is so stoked to still have me in it, of course!)

So I put on my money vest and I went to their Open House to Dance for Dollars.

I got lots of love and attentions from the adults and the kids. I took a fiver right out of one lady's hand. I was afraid she was going to try to put it in my g-string.

I raised big monies with my hot sexy bod.

And I met this lady, Priscilla!  I first thought maybe she could be the FLOTUS.

But, um, she was a bit too interested in some bits of me and tried to put babies in me!  Oh my!

We also met this little lady.

She's tuff! She takes candy from babies!

This is Annie, aka Rocks-Anne, she belongs to one of the Animal Control Officers and she is the pet-scot of the Wilmington Blue Rocks baseballs team!  Hubba hubba!

And here is Binks! He's at the SPCA and he's showing off his mad tricks with volunteer Janice who walks dogs all of the times and she especially loves the pibbles who have been there a long time.

I also met Mr. Titan who, like Priscilly, was a bit obsessed with my hind end.  I must have mad pheromones!

Rocks-Anne was especially fond of this cocker spaniel who was not certain what to make of his 8 month old, 80 lb girlfriend.

Do you recognize that equipment from SPCA Saturdays?  Yah, it's in the SPCA yard and they let dogs play off leash.  They did a fine job of teaching those young ladies some agilities!

Naked apes are not the smarterest but you can teach them a few tricks.

When I got most tired (of not eating hot dogs) I went home and Edgrr B. Poopacabra came!  He was proud of himself for not barfing in the car like usual.  Aim high, little dude.

And he met Ray who is a mighty nice feller who has been at the SPCA too long. Ed was not a successful fundraiser as he does not like new peoples and only warmed up when he saw a shepherd in the crowd!  Philanthropy fail.  So he stayed until the end pretending he is a meek, sweet lil' slip of a thing until it was time to go home.

Unfortch, he is a bit of a backseat driver but he safely guided the apes home to watch NEBRASKA BEAT THE WASHINGTON HUSKIES in the footballs (no actual Huskies were harmed in the trouncing by the BIG RED).

I can't wait for my next chancertunity to do some more charity!  Especially if there are more hot dogs involved.  And if you want to put some bills in my virtual g-string you can donate at the SPCA's website!

SPCA Saturday Brought to You by Big Red!

Helooooooooooo! My name is BIG RED. Ok, really it is Oscar but I like to be called BIG RED. 'Specially if you call me that while giving me snacks and buttrubs! WOooooooo Buttrubs! Every weekend this lady comes to my house at the SPCA and walks the new dogs and then takes ME OUT and she gives me butt rubs and I give her the SLOBBERY KISSES. Mmmmm. She asked me to tell you about the SPCA DOGS that you could TAKE HOME, oK?

Let me introduce you to some of my friends! This girl is maybe a border collie mix. She doesn't have a name so let's call her BIG RED'S GIRLFRIEND. HAHA! She is a little shy but pretty calm. Unlike me! Haha!

Look! It is my friend BONES who needed new photos because when he came he was like Nicole Ritchie skinny and now he has meat on his BONES. He loves to play play play and get loads of the ladyattention.

He is a dog of many faces!

This girly girl is Mikayla and she is a pit bull like me! But smaller. But I think almost everyone is smaller than me.
She was really shy but she let that lady who pets me pet her and then she found out about the buttrubs and she gave up some of her slobber. Go Mikayla!

Look at THIS handsome fellow. He is a big Phillies Phan because they are comeback kids and they might even make the playoffs! WOOOOO PHILLEEEEEEEEZ.

Look what a great actor he is! He's pretending he's watching the Ryan Howard hit a HOME RUN to win the WORLD SERIES for the PHILLIES. SO EXCITING!

You can come adopt us any time or give $$ through the SPCA website or to your own shelter because I bet there are totes cool dudes wherever you are who also need help (though none are as cool as the fellow above, agreed?) Also next weekend is the SPCA FOR PAWS DAY! That slobbery lady is going to help take pictures of dogs who visit and sell VEGAN BAKED GOODS. What's a vegan and do they taste good??????

See you next Saturday unless I get ADOPPPPPTED! (Adopt me!)

SPCA Saturday

Time for another installment of My Ma Ape is a Hoochie Mama. She has been giving away her affection for free again down at the shelter. Here are some of the dogs she met:

Lola, Lo-Lo-Lo-La-Lola. She is a Shi Tzu in need of a bath and a good home.

Here is the first of a series of white pit mixes at the shelter. They were ALL sweet and ALL cute! Unfortunately, the ma ape doesn't remember this dude's name in spite of his memorable bat ears.

This is STEWIE! He can fly. My ma ape learned about the springs in the feet when he suddenly lept up and and gave her a kiss on the face while she was standing up. Though my ma ape is vertically challenged so it is not that impressive.

Stewie can do some awesome faces, though.

This is shooter, a lab/chow? mix. He was a pretty nice dude who knew how to sit for snacks. What else do you need to know?

Brody is a chow mix with a BIG HEAD. And who doesn't need a dog with a big head?

Look at Emma! She can FLY! She is Emma Peel, British Superspy.

And who does this chin belong to?

REX! He's a boxer mix? And has pink spots on his nose. The cute!

And don't forget Big Red! He cheered on the Cornhuskers who whooped up on New Mexico State.

I know my friends at the Brat Pack are worried about some of the dogs in the Dallas/Ft Worth area because they are making room for hurricane dogs. We are thinking of all the homeless dogs and people left after Bad Ike (not Good Ike). Take care guys.

SPCA Saturday!

It is time for yet another SPCA Day! This time, in honor of the Olympics, we will be distributing medals for this week's winners.

Winning Bronze in the Goofball competition is FOXY ROXY, a pit mix with a big heart and a love of playing.

Taking the silver is TAZER who, in spite of his ridiculous name, is a total sweetheart who LOVES toys and playing and being a GOOFBALL.

But our winner of the gold by a tongue is....REGGIE! the pit mix who is a gorgeous brindle and loves to run, jump, play, wag his tongue, etc. If it moves he likes it.

Easily taking the gold in the best eye makeup competition is BEAR the HUSKY, a gorgeous dude who is on his third trip to the SPCA. :( We can't figure out what is going on because he's a nice dude. Must be defective people.

The silver went to Ms. Sugar who lives up to her name. She likes to relax and pretend to be a lap dog. She's an itty bitty pitty.

And it is time for the medals in BIG HEAD. The greatest category of them all. Meet Samson, a pretty brindle pit who is sweet and loves to play once he gets to know ya. As you can see, he also likes getting his belly rubbed.

Taking silver is Oscar who NEEDS A HOME for his BIG HEAD. He would like to live in my ma ape's lap but it already belongs to WALLY TAMALE. I sometimes rent it out but don't get too comfortable, dude.

But the winner by a jowl is WILLIS, an American Bulldog who has been at the SPCA for a bit, too. That big head is totes sweet, as we big heads tend to be.

BIG HEADS RULE! You can adopt these dogs at the SPCA and I'll give you a gold medal!
