Too Hot To Handle

The title of the post sounds like it is about me but I am actually talking about the weather. It is hot, humid, and awful. Look, even my sissy who NEVER stops moving, takes it easy in the outside. Obviously so does my ma ape since the lawn needs to be mowed! She's so embarrassing.

And I have to DIG to find a comfy spot to rest. (Note: we don't actually spend all day in the outside. Far from it. We try to find respite from the heat after being out there for 2-3 minutes! Then we run inside as fast as we can and go sit in front of the fan. Ahhhhh.)

Here is something that likes the heat--our Oprah plants! (Someone asked if okras are the same as ladyfingers--yup! They are not actually the fingers of ladies, though.) And the beeables like the oprah flowers.

Oooooh. Pretty. The Oprah plants are taller than my ma ape now (which is not saying much, let me tell you).

And our maters are running wild! The mater plants have outgrown their crates and are spilling out all over. Like me, they don't like being in cratables and want to run free.

Soooo...what is the best thing for this heat? ICE CREAM, of course! And the Airedale Rescue of North Texas is having a competition that my lazy ma ape keeps forgetting about! You can read about it and enter your own picture here. I scream, you scream, get off your bum and get me ice cream, ma ape!

My mama took me outside with a frosty paws that swore under her breath because it was taking me so long to eat it in the heat!

Hey Wally! My muzzer is very short also. She may be shorter than you! Your maters look lovely. I like mine with garlic and a bit of olive oil, but I dream of eating one right off the vine.

Hi wally!
I haven't tried digging yet. I like to throw myself onto my back on grass and rub the smell in. Hmm...digging. I only dig at hands and feet when I know they are hiding something. Haha!

Those 'maters look pretty good. Mom's are all still green. 'cept the little bitty ones.

I got a giant box in the mail today & am happy just to stay inside & eat.

Hi Wally! Your Ma Ape is sadly misleading you. Lady Fingers are a delicious cookie! Make her get you some! If you want drool, come visit us! The oprah fruits drool so much there's nothing left of them! The Lady finger cookies are sweet and crunchy!

Sometimes we like fruits. Blueberries and dried cranberries are our favorites. We are great in the water. Tank's seen a locomotive but we've never seen a helicopter. None of us will jump off a dock yet, although Dad's trying to get us too. Tank has jumped off the side of a pool. We'd love to go to Europe but we're not too keen on airplanes. Tank and Princess were on one. Princess was pretty anxious. Tank took it in stride but yelled at dad for leaving him alone so long. Princess was less anxious when she could see Tank. We could go on a boat, though! Thanks for inviting us!
