yes, we're great.

if this story doesn't make you cry, you've got one cold heart! dogs are unquestionably the greatest beasts ever. and goddamn cats, what have you got to say for yourself?

AP--Sheboygan, Wis.

Jamie Hanson, who lost her leg in a traffic crash three years ago, tearfully described how her dog, Jesse, pulled her from a fire at her Town of Rhine home Sunday and brought her the phone so she could call for help.

“I was laying on the couch watching TV and my smallest cat was running over the back of the couch and he jumped onto a table that had a candle on it and tipped it over and lighted the artificial plants on fire,” Hanson, 49, said today during a press conference at the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

“I have an artificial leg and when I fell off the couch, I couldn’t get to the table that fast, so my dog got my leg for me and went and got the phone and brought the phone to me so I could call 911,” Hanson said.

Hanson tried to put on her prosthetic leg, but it was too hot, she said.

“She got me outside and then she heard the cat upstairs and she went up there to get the cat and she wouldn’t come back to me,” Hanson said.

Jesse, a 13-year-old golden Labrador retriever and German shepherd mix, and the cat, Tigger, died in the fire

I saw this in the news the other day myself. I almost lost it when I read that Jesse went back to get the cat. Too, too sad.

yeah, says a lot that our devotion to our pack overcomes even our survival instinct. we are truly great animals. we deserve belly rubs and more (remind your great oppressor of this).
