Thank you.

Wally told us he would haunt us if we didn't take GOOD CARE of his FRIENDS. (Also he said NO CAPS LOCK or SCREAMING). So we wanted to say THANKS to all his friends for your kind words . We miss our little bossy bud and knowing he had so many friends means a lot to us. We were lucky he adopted us (as he frequently reminded us) and we're lucky he came with so many good pals.

Jeannie here.

I remember when, way back, dear Oscar The Airedale, one of the UK dog bloggers, died suddenly and at a very young age.

I also remember with such clarity, your (or should I say dearest Wally's words!) that he was surprised how the passing of a dog he had never met, affected us all so badly.

To be honest, I have never forgotten those wise words. I mean, how do you exactly explain to someone who is not a dog blogger, how the passing of a dog you have never met, affects you.

However, we read each other's dog blogs, we cheer when things are going well, we laugh at the escapades and antics, especially the phrases which become legendary, such as Wallymelon, and "Ma Ape", we feel sad when things are not going well, we reach into our hearts when the dogs are sick, ill or unhappy.

And, we weep profusely when they run across the Rainbow Bridge.

But most of all, we connect with each other, and the dogs.

So this morning, when I woke up, my first thought was of 'Wally's' wise words, how he/you were surprised at how much deep emotion we feel about a dog (albeit a very special dog) we have come to know, via dog blogging, but who we are unlikely to ever meet.

I know we have been nlog friends a long time through the dog blogs, and somehow I much value and appreciated your and Wally's insightful views and of course, the delightful humour.

I loved Wally from the start, because he always looked so wise, so just Wally! I always took time to check out his wise words, the sense of humour, the love of life, and the totally fun and incredible "differentness" of Wally's blog.

Also, Wally,(and you!) was so kind when we had to leave the blog world for a while, and so welcoming when we returned.

Often, I find I get a bit stressed at not being able to comment/blog as much as I would like to, but then again, Wally's words, come back to me. He (you!) once said, not to worry, he didn't count how many times people commented, or visited.

So, to end up, I just wanted to say thank you, for letting us share dear Wally's wonderful world, and to meet on line such a lovely dog, and his family.

Today is a very sad day, but it is also a day to take stock, dog blogging is something which has brought a whole community together.

Our thoughts, of course, are with you, Marvin is my first dog, and I cannot and do not want to imagine the scenario you are going through.

Dog Bless dear Wally, he has a place in our hearts forever.

And yes, Marvin took up your request this morning on your comment on our blog, and we have had many sweet hugs today.

Love and much light, to you all,

Jeannie xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and family xxxxxxxxxxxxx

And of course Marvin xxxxxxx

We are so sorry for your loss. While we don't blog as much as we should, we try to read as many as we can. Thinking of you all and praying you find peace in knowing that Wally is running free, and you will be reunited one day.

Ike wanted me to pass this on to Wally over the bridge - he thinks this is the only means of communication, so here goes:
"Wally, don't eat all the pizzles in heaven!"
There's Ike being all selfish as usual.
We're really going to miss Wally - I can't even express how much. My God he was a good looking and sweet guy.

Wally, our momma learned a long time ago that those short, black dogs can steal a heart faster than the blink of an eye. She also learned that when they leave to go to heaven they take a little part of you with them that you won't get back until the two of you are united once again...

In all my comments on this blog in the past, I have always addressed myself directly to Wally. But I know that behind Wally was a human, and that that human provided the technological and material support that made Wally's wit, wisdom, and wiles available for all of us to enjoy. So, thank you, human. I hope you can take some pleasure in knowing how much you have done for dogs, bloggers, and dogbloggers around the world.

Wally, you are in so much trouble! You have held court for so long that we came to believe you would never leave us - that you would be eternal! But Mum says you are eternal, you'll be living forever in our hearts. I know a lot of people are crying because you are gone, but Mum thinks of you and starts laughing - thinking of all the funny things you always said and the pictures! Honestly, you missed your calling big guy! You could have made a fortune as a model. But I digress..

Don't worry about your parents, we'll all be looking after them for you. As far as the Sheppy's...well, they're kind of big for us short guys to look after, so they are on their own.

Now that you're at the Rainbow Bridge, could you possible find the place where they make the kibble and drop some bags down here, west side of the Willamette Valley in Oregon? The backyard would be best.

We'll be chattin' at you in our prayers big guy - that big heart of yours...we're pretty sure it is made of gold.

Love to you and yours,

Dozer, Dottie and Cooper Edwards

P.S. Kibble, backyard..don't forget.
